Geelong is only an hour from the Melbourne CBD via the Westgate and Princes Freeways, and Bellarine destinations are within half an hour of Geelong. It’s a compact region, easy to explore by car.
From Adelaide, you can either take the inland route through Horsham and Ballarat or you can take the coast road via Mt Gambier and the Great Ocean Road – a very scenic drive. Go to the ‘Places to Visit’ page to view a video of the very picturesque drive along the Great Ocean Road.

Visit by Sea

Australia’s favourite car and passenger ferry connects Queenscliff and The Bellarine with the Mornington Peninsula, Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and Phillip Island. The journey regularly encounters dolphins and other marine life. The lounge and external decks all offer spectacular coastal views as passengers relax and enjoy a coffee and the scenery, know they’ve avoided a tussle with Melbourne city traffic.

The 40 minute crossing departs every hour, every day between 7am – 6pm (7pm 26 December – 31 January).
